Beetle kill pine for the canvas. Knots used for moose’s eye and nostril. Wood burned details around grain, wood stains for color and poly sealed. Alder Frame.

This piece of wood I used to test a friends’ sandblaster on. The blasting gave it a rough texture over the grain pattern. The pattern immediately looked to me like a moose, but he was flying and had a mask on or something over his eyes. Thoughts of Bullwinkle and a super moose came to mind and then the title. I wanted to keep him a simple hero, no fancy outfit, just a cape and mask. The grain pattern works perfectly to give him a strong face and body, plus the appearance of speeding through the air. You know like a bullet or something. I love the way this one turned out.
